ABSTRACT

The modern status of Linaceae as a discrete and natural group has a long history of development. The Linaceae in the broad sense of the word have always been a controversial group. The present review represents an effort to supplement available data by the use of comparative chemical data concerning the secondary metabolites of the Linaceae. Little comparative chemistry has been carried out among the Linaceae. Therefore family Linaceae have been surveyed for literature reports of secondary metabolites. The data were discussed in terms of their applicability to classification
